Manager, Implementations

Mission

The Manager, Implementations is responsible for installing, configuring and readying a customer environment for go live, migrating legacy data from the customer’s previous software system, and importing data on an ongoing basis. To be successful in this role, a candidate must have strong technical, managerial, and customer engagement skills, and a heightened awareness of data security and privacy.

Technical skills include deep knowledge of application servers, database services, service-oriented architecture design principals, HIT standards and interfaces, ETL design and implementation, quality assurance processes, in-depth knowledge of GSI Health’s various technologies, applications, schema and data structures, and GSI Health’s implementation methodology. Non-technical skills include project management, vendor management and managing disparate teams in various geographies and different time zones. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Combining these skills and knowledge is essential for a successful implementation, which includes managing internal and external stakeholder expectations. This position is exempt.

The position reports to the Senior Director, DevOps & Interoperability.

Position Summary

The candidate’s responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead project teams through discovery and scoping phases of their implementation and data migration projects
  • Ensure HIPAA privacy and security requirements are met at all times during the implementation and data migration process
  • Plan, deploy, configure, and test environments for GSI Health customers
  • Coordinate assigned deliverables internally among various cross-functional groups to ensure client timelines are met
  • Meet with both internal and external stakeholders and keep them abreast of developments and progress
  • Meet with client stakeholders to consensually develop the scope and character of the data to migrate to the new system and the timelines
  • Coordinate internal and external functional teams to get and import legacy data
  • Coordinate internal and external functional teams to ensure accuracy and quality of the imported legacy data
  • Contribute to the customers’ experience with GSI Health’s product, tools, and services in a way that results in high customer satisfaction
  • Manage functional teams located in various geographies and in various time zones
  • Other assigned duties

Fundamental Requirements

  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams
  • Experience in an industry that meets or exceeds the healthcare industry regulations
  • Expertise with Java, Glassfish, Tomcat, James, MySQL, MSSQL, WebLogic, Pentaho, Mirth Match, and Mirth Connect
  • Expertise with the ETL framework and best practices
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Experience interacting with and managing expectations of internal and external leadership
  • Experience managing teams located in multiple geographies and across various time zones
  • Good understanding of HIT interoperability standards and interfaces is desired
  • Good understanding of HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules
  • Familiarity with GSIHealthCoordinator, TREAT, Insight Plus, Avatar, and other care coordination and management applications is highly desired
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Team player who will work across the organization and company to continue improving the way GSI Health serves its clients
  • Travel to customer locations as needed
  • Travel to locations where GSI Health teams are stationed, as needed

Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years implementing complex integrated solutions
  • 5+ years implementing systems from third-party service vendors
  • Command of service-oriented architecture concepts
  • Extensive experience with ETL, EDI, Web Services, XML, XSLT, Java, Pentaho, MySQL, and MSSQL
  • Extensive experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Glassfish, Pentaho, Tomcat, and James servers, and applications deployed on them
  • Extensive experience configuring and troubleshooting Mirth Match and Mirth Connect
  • Extensive experience migrating data from one system to another using ETL best practices via manual and automated processes
  • Extensive experience creating and implementing specification for data migration\
  • Experience managing teams disbursed geographically and across time zones
  • Extensive experience engaging customers, vendors, and other stakeholders, and setting and managing their expectations
  • Experience extracting and/or importing data to/from TREAT, Insight Plus, Avatar, and other care coordination and management applications is highly desired
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and relationship management skills
