Business Analyst


The ideal candidate for this Business Analyst position possesses a blend of business and technical skills with the ability to envision the big picture and the determination to realize that vision in the product. The candidate will gather, synthesize ,and document requirements for healthcare applications and processes, analyze requirements, and ensure requirements consider the “whole product” and that they are understandable, testable, and supportive of design, development, and quality assurance processes. Additionally, they must be able to effectively extract requirements from various channels including meetings, communication streams, interviews, existing systems, prototypes, comparable and competitive industry offerings, market analysis, and other research. This position will work with leadership, product owners, project managers, software development teams, QA, client solutions team and external clients. The BA will act as the stakeholder advocate to ensure that project acceptance criteria and requirements are clearly defined. This is an exempt position.

This position will report to Director, Information Management

Position Summary

The candidate’s responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Work in a matrix environment as well as with external vendors and partners to develop and manage clinical healthcare solutions
  • Guide a project through the steps of Agile/iterative methodology associated with the delivery of software solutions: requirements, design, development, unit testing, user acceptance testing and operations
  • Serve as the advocate for the business and customer needs across the product lifecycle
  • Gather and understand requirements from internal stakeholders, customers, government regulations, and industry
  • Lead feedback sessions with customers, document the feedback, make suggestions for improvements, and manage the communication feedback cycle with the customer
  • Refine the varying messages and requirements into a consistent, single vision
  • Work with Implementation and Development leads to translate and map business requirements to functional requirements/specifications
  • Provide stakeholder guidance and feedback through the Agile development process
  • Translate the emerging of questions from the developers into details that the stakeholders can understand
  • Assist Quality Assurance team with development, execution, and documentation of test cases
  • Negotiate, set, and document release requirements
  • Assist with release/delivery, rollout, and production transfer activities to ensure business and customer objectives are met
  • Measure post Go Live accuracy and overall satisfaction.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ recent years of experience as a business analyst, product manager, or project manager with similar responsibilities
  • Proven experience in gathering requirements and developing functional requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Prioritization skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Capacity to find answers instead of waiting for answers
  • Experience and confidence in engaging and communicating with stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building, with the ability to collaborate and build consensus
  • Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle


  • 3+ years of equivalent work experience as a software business analyst
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with healthcare solutions
